1. THE PROBLEM OF ULTIMATE UNITY VS. REAL DIVERSITY

Hinduism—especially Advaita Vedanta—teaches Monism, that Brahman is the ultimate, undifferentiated Oneness, and all distinctions (self/other, true/false, good/evil, etc.) are illusions (maya).

Hinduism also teaches that humans are trapped in the cycle of rebirth (Samsara - a.k.a., reincarnation) and seek liberation from this cycle which is ultimately union with Brahman (Moksha).

So Hinduism says there are no distinctions, but then turns right around and states Samsara is distinct from Moksha, a clear contradiction in the core belief.

Also:

This teaches that the individual self (Atman) is not truly distinct from Brahman – that this distinction is an illusion. But then turns around that one should seek union with Brahman. This is another clear contradiction in the core teaching.

Conclusion:

These contradictions in the core beliefs immediately discredit Hinduism as the one true religion through logical absurdity.

Note: The following also applies to “realization of Brahman” (Advaita)…

2. THE PROBLEM OF KNOWLEDGE

If the world is maya (illusion):

- then all sense perception is unreliable,

- all reasoning based on perceived distinctions is unreliable,

- and even the claim “all is illusion” becomes self-refuting:

(If everything is illusion, you have no non-illusory basis for

   claiming everything is illusion.)

The main point: You cannot know anything in a worldview where knowledge itself is illusion.

3. THE PROBLEM OF ETHICS

In Hinduism, Karma is the moral law of cause-and-effect that attaches consequences to actions, thoughts, and intentions, determining one’s future circumstances and rebirths.

However, if all is one and all distinctions are illusions:

- no real difference exists between kindness and cruelty,

- no real difference exists between righteousness and sin,

- no real difference exists between liberation and bondage.

The main point: Hindu morality becomes ultimately arbitrary because moral distinctions evaporate in monism.

And Karma cannot be meaningful if there are no real distinctions between right and wrong actions.

4. THE PROBLEM OF PERSONAL IDENTITY

Christianity affirms real, distinct persons made in the image of God.

Hinduism ultimately dissolves personal identity into the One (Atman = Brahman).

The main point: If the personal self is ultimately not real, then concepts like intention, responsibility, repentance, and relationship cannot have ultimate meaning.

Even the teacher/student distinction collapses.

5. THE PROBLEM OF LOGIC

If all distinctions are illusions, then logic itself becomes illusion, because logic depends on real differences (A is not non-A).

If distinctions are not ultimately real, you cannot:

- distinguish truth from falsehood,

- distinguish illusion from reality,

- even distinguish Hinduism from non-Hinduism.

Thus, Hinduism undermines the necessary preconditions for rationality itself. Hinduism undermines rationality because it denies the ultimate reality of distinctions that reasoning depends on. Without real distinctions, logic, morality, and knowledge are unintelligible, making the worldview internally inconsistent and unable to justify belief or action.

THE BIBLE AND LOGIC

In the Biblical worldview, logic and reasoning work because God is perfectly rational and created a world with real distinctions. Our knowledge, moral judgments, and understanding of reality are reliable because they correspond to God’s order, which is based on His nature and character.

In a system like Hindu monism, where all distinctions are ultimately illusion, even reasoning and morality have no ultimate foundation and cannot be fully trusted. The Bible says they can be trusted, and grounds why they can be.

The Gospel Of Jesus Christ

God is holy and just, and has set a day in which He will judge the earth in righteousness (Acts 17:31). He will not overlook any sin. How will you do? Here’s a quick test: How many times have you ever lied, stolen, and used God’s name in vain? Jesus said, “Whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” If you’ve done these things God sees you as a liar, thief, blasphemer, and adulterer at heart; and the Bible warns that one day God will justly punish you in Hell.

But God lovingly and mercifully provided a way for forgiveness. We’ve broken God’s moral Law, but Jesus, who was sinless, paid the fine on the cross for guilty sinners. This means God can legally dismiss their case: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” Then Jesus rose from the dead, defeating death.

Make up your mind/heart to turn from sin and to trust Jesus alone and trust in His righteousness (not your own failed self-righteousness), then God will forgive your sins and grant you eternal life as a free gift. Then read the Bible daily, obey it, and find a Bible-believing church where you can learn and grow as a believer.

Thank you for your consideration.
